Conformation, otherwise known as dog showing, is a favorite activity for many whippet owners. In these events, qualified judges evaluate each dog, looking at structure, movement, and overall appearance, to determine which one is closest to the breed standard. Successful dogs can earn the title of CH (Champion), and champions may continue to compete for standings, group placements, and Best in Show. We will start our day with the Sweeps at 9 AM, with Breed judging to follow at 10:30 AM. There will be a one-hour lunch break after the completion of Winner’s Dog (which means that lunch will start at around 11:45 or so, based on my best calculations). NCWFA Annual Meeting to begin after BOB and photos are done.

And lest we forget, there is fun on Sunday too — Wine and Cheese at Del Valle!
The judging program for Del Valle is out… http://www.infodog.com/jps/697/jpg697.pdf
Whippets show on Sunday at 8:00 AM in Ring 25. The entry is 9 in Sweeps and then 45 in the Breed. So this means an early start to our Wine & Cheese Reception after judging – please stay after judging for Wine, Cheese and Fruit with the NCWFA. This ought to make for a lively rooting section for whoever wins the breed on Sunday.
Come and join the NCWFA for a day of whippet fun in the sun (or a whole weekend of Whippet-y Fun in the Sun!) in Pleasanton!
