NCWFA Membership
The NCWFA encourages interested parties to consider applying for membership in our Club. Both levels of membership include entrance to all Club events and a subscription to our quarterly newsletter, SPEED.
Please read the info below, BEFORE applying to the NCWFA:
There are two types of membership, Associate & Active.
1. Associate Membership All applicants who are new to the NCWFA must first apply for Associate membership, which includes all Club privileges, except voting and holding office. All Associate Applicants must attend at least two Club meetings and have the sponsorship of two unrelated NCWFA members in good standing before being presented & voted on for membership. Associate membership is open to all ages. At the end of the first year of membership, Associate members may apply for Active membership or else re-apply for Associate membership.
2. Active Membership Active membership is open to those 18 years or older who have served as an Associate member for at least one year, as voted on by the Club. Active members are entitled to one vote each and may hold office in the Club. All Active applicants must have maintained at least one year of Associate membership in the NCWFA, have documented participation in two Club events*, and have the sponsorship of two unrelated NCWFA members in good standing before being presented & voted on for Active Membership. Active members are expected to attend at least one meeting and participate in at least one Club event each year.
* A "club event" can include any event or task taken on officially by the Club. For example, assisting at our specialty show, lure coursing, racing, and any of the tasks surrounding these events, as well as working on the newsletter, or a fundraiser, or assisting with Rescue activities, all "count" as events participated in for an Active applicant.
